Sample Audio Track

"Everything about this show, the music, the staging and on-stage humor was of the highest caliber." The Stettler Independent

A Yamaha performing ensemble, FBQ promises "serious Fun!"? Five outrageous, high-energy personalities present polished shows filled with entertainment and musical variety, inviting their audiences - with a friendly smile and an "off key" sense of humor - to get closer to the music than ever before.? Programming choices range from Baroque, Classical and Jazz, to contemporary as well as several outstanding and educational shows for young audiences.

Celebrating the Centennial of Canada's province of Alberta - its history, people, and diversity - FBQ features in 2005-06-07, two commissioned pieces by Canadian Composer Tobin Stokes.? The John Ware Suite honors the first black cowboy in Alberta and Leaning on the wind is a work based on the poetry of Albertan Sid Marty, whose work explores the themes of natural history and western Canadian life and culture.? Evoking a sense of pride in the natural wonders that surround Albertans and describing the hardy and inventive spirit of Canadians.? This work allows each quintet member to read a portion of the poetry while the remaining four musicians present the music.
